How does the People's Postcode Lottery work?
A People’s Postcode Lottery ticket is based on a players postcode, which means entire streets and neighbourhoods can win together. People’s Postcode Lottery awards prizes to winning postcodes. This summer your postcode could win a share of £10.3 million in the European Postcode Millions on 31 August, in addition to our weekly £30,000 Street Prizes!

What can I win?
Players can win up to £30,000 a week, in addition to larger Postcode Rollover prize pots of over £2 million several times a year.
- A £2 million prize pot several times a year
- £30,000 every week
- £5,000 every week for one lucky Welsh postcode for the next 6 months
- 500 postcodes win extra prizes every week
Postcode Rollovers
Several times a year, massive million pound prize post are offered in Postcode Rollovers! Players in the full winning postcode (the sector code plus the two letters) will share half of the total Rollover prize pot*. Players in the winning sector code share the remaining half of this prize pot* The longer you play, the greater your share!
* As per amended Gambling Act 2005 restrictions, each ticket is capped at winning £400,000, or 10% of the ticket sales in the draw. So the more tickets a participant plays with the greater their potential share of the prize pot!
Rollover Points
Rollover Points (previously known as bonus points) are loyalty points guaranteeing more money for players who have played for longer. Players with more points will win a greater share of the Rollover prize pot. As soon as you start playing, you accumulate Rollover Points for the next Postcode Rollover. These points are reset after each Postcode Rollover.
How is the prize calculated?
The prizes are shared between players living in winning postcodes, and winning postcode sectors.
Throughout each month, 5 lucky postcodes are drawn.
- All players in each postcode (example: AB12 3CD) share the £30,000 Street Prize.
- All players in the postcode sector (example: AB12 3) share the £5,000 Sector Prize.
If you have more tickets, you win a greater share of the prize!
Here is an example of how it works:
- £30,000 Postcode Street Prize
The winner of the £30,000 Street Prize has the postcode AB12 3CD. There are two players in the street - Mr Smith playing with 1 ticket and Mrs Jones playing with 2 tickets. So the Street Prize will be split into three equal parts. This means that Mr Smith wins £10,000, as he plays with one ticket, and Mrs Jones wins £20,000 as she plays with 2 tickets. - £5,000 Postcode Sector Prize
The postcode sector prize will be shared between all the playing tickets in the postcode area AB12 3.There is no limit as to how many people can win in the winning postcode sector. The more tickets players have in the winning sector, the greater the share of the prize they will win.
In addition to the Street Prize and Sector Prizes, an additional 500 postcodes win with ‘Bonus Streets’,’ Party Streets’ and ‘Winning Postcodes’
- Postcode Bonus Streets
Each week, 15 postcodes are drawn and every player in each of those postcodes wins £100 per ticket. This means the more tickets you have, the more you'll win! - Postcode Party Streets
25 postcodes win this weekly prize of £50 per ticket. So playing with multiple tickets could double, triple or even quadruple your prize. - Winning Postcodes
Every week players in 500 postcodes win £2 per ticket.
How much does a ticket cost?
Tickets cost £2 per draw and payment is made in advance by Direct Debit of Credit/Debit card. You can cancel at any time. When you sign up with Direct Debit your payment for entry into next month’s draw (i.e. March) will be made at the end of the previous month (i.e. February). I live out-with Great Britain- can I still play?
As long as you have a bank account in Scotland, England or Wales, you can play the People’s Postcode Lottery. If you’d like to join, please send us an email with your name, address, account number and the amount of lottery tickets. Please also provide the postcode with which you wish to play.
