FK5 4PB - Falkirk - 13 November 2008
Here at the People’s Postcode Lottery we’re beginning our preparations in earnest for the St Andrews Day ‘Postcode Belter’, but this doesn’t mean we’re forgetting about our weekly Street Prize winners! It was a Falkirk postcode’s turn to strike it lucky and receive a visit from Angus and the team.
Our first winner, Blyth Gardiner, was understandably astounded upon being presented with a £15,000 cheque. He said to Angus: “I’ve played since the start of the lottery – I thought I’d be lucky and win something!
“We’re desperate for a new kitchen so that’ll be the first thing we buy. This will mean we’ll have a great Christmas.” Despite being originally from Glasgow, Blyth and his wife Anne Marie have lived in Falkirk for 23 years but here’s betting that their postcode has never meant as much to them as now!
Next up to receive a prize was IT consultant James McCreadie. “I’m gobsmacked! Is this for real?” he exclaimed when he saw Angus on his doorstep. The news soon hit home though, as he was handed a cheque for £10,000.
“I’d been meaning to sign up for a while, I’m an animal lover so I like that People’s Postcode Lottery gives money to the Scottish Wildlife Trust,” he said, flanked by his housemate, Tia Teapot the dog. “I’ll spend it on some bills and treat myself to some new equipment for my camera.”
Leaving behind two new happy winners in Falkirk, Angus and the People’s Postcode Lottery team left town to prepare to surprise more people next week. Will your postcode be their next calling point?
