A £30,000 birthday present for this week's winner!
One lucky resident of Glasgow was celebrating her birthday with £30,000 as the winner of the People’s Postcode Lottery Street Prize!
Judie McCourt surprised winner Kay Bellshaw, 25 this week with the cheque, making it an extra special birthday for the Dumbarton Road resident! Kay received the news that she was a winner on the day of her birthday, but had no idea how much she had won. After discovering the amazing amount, she said: "I’m in shock! It’s very exciting!"
When asked what she would spend the money on, she said: "Our car needs repaired at the moment, but on second thoughts – I may just buy a new one!"
Recently married Kay is also expecting a baby in August with husband Michael. "It’s fantastic – I can now buy the pram I really want, instead of the one I can afford!"
Kay has been playing People’s Postcode Lottery for over a year, and signed up because of the fantastic charities People’s Postcode Lottery supports. "It was the good causes that the money goes to which made me join People’s Postcode Lottery – and of course the chance that I might win something myself!"
Not far from our winner Kay, is Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre Glasgow, a charity partner of People’s Postcode Lottery. Players of People’s Postcode Lottery in Scotland have raised enough funds to cover the operating costs of this centre for 3 years. As the funding from People’s Postcode Lottery is unrestricted, it allows the charities like Maggie’s to invest funding where it is really needed.
Remember that the deadline to suscribe for the £2.1 million Spring Postcode Rollover is looming - sign up before the 18th March to make sure you're in the draw for this huge prize!
