This week's Street Prize lands in Blairgowrie!

Four Blairgowrie residents were celebrating this week as postcode PH10 6PJ was selected as the winning postcode in People’s Postcode Lottery. The £30,000 Winning Street Prize was shared out between the four lucky winners, with a further £5,000 being shared out between all players with PH10 6 in their postcode.

First to receive her prize, Jozia Gellatly, 67, said the cheque for £6,000 was "wonderful!". Jozia has been playing People’s Postcode Lottery since its launch in the Scotland in January 2008 and when asked what she was going to spend her winnings on, she said: "My daughter is pregnant, so I will be able to spend some of our winnings on spoiling our little grandchild!"

Second to be visited by Judie was Lynn Thompson, 45, whose husband Neil was awarded the £6,000 cheque on her behalf. "She’ll be over the moon! I’ve got the balloons up, ready for her to come home after work so we can celebrate with some fizz in the fridge!" he said.

Lynn works in the Haematology and Oncology unit in Perth Royal Infirmary and signed up to People's Postcode Lottery as the money was used to support charities local to her. Neil thought Lynn would be spending some of her winnings on a "nice new mother of the groom outfit, as our son is getting married next year."

A further 2 winners shared the £30,000 Street Prize. Mr Cameron, 80, was awarded £6,000, and as the final winner Steven Young, 41, played with 2 tickets, he won a fantastic £12,000!

While the winning postcode residents were celebrating, local charities to Blairgowrie were also celebrating as 40p from every ticket sale in Scotland goes straight to charities here in Scotland.

One of the charities that has benefited from People’s Postcode Lottery is the Scottish Wildlife Trust, who have received over £850,000 in support, all down to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. As the funding is unrestricted, it allows the Scottish Wildlife Trust to invest the funding where it is really needed. Residents of this week’s winning postcode may have visited Scottish Wildlife Trusts Loch of the Lowes visitor centre in Dunkeld, which allows visitors to get closer to nature in a safe and educated environment.

The People’s Postcode Lottery Spring Postcode Rollover will be held on 18th April, when one postcode will win a massive £2.1million! The deadline for subscriptions is fast approaching so remember to subscribe before midday on March 18th to book your place in the draw!
