Both Tony Blair and Bill Clinton were guests of the Postcode Lottery at a recent climate change forum in Sweden.
As well as discussing ways to combat climate change, especially in today’s economic climate, Tony Blair (pictured with People’s Postcode Lottery Country Director Annemiek Hoogenboom) praised People’s Postcode Lottery support for projects in this field.
“The more I got to know about the Postcode Lottery, the more I think it is the most fantastic combination of fun and good causes,” said Mr Blair.
“Well done! It is an amazing achievement what you people of the Postcode Lottery are doing.”
Bill Clinton also revealed himself to be a keen supporter of the way in which the People’s Postcode Lottery works.
“I love the Postcode Lottery. In America, when winning the lottery, they pick your number and nobody else’s: you win a fortune and nobody else gets anything.
“With the Postcode Lottery, you have lots more winners, which I think is better than our lottery as a metaphor for the 21st Century world. Because if we live in an interdependent world, we have shared responsibilities and beliefs.”
“I like the idea that you give people the chance to win money with a 100% guarantee that their lottery tickets will be used to help solve people’s problems.”
