Praise from the First Minister

First Minister Alex Salmond has praised the People’s Postcode Lottery for raising an amazing £1 million for Scottish charities in
just 11 months.

After hearing this news, he said: “Congratulations to the People’s Postcode Lottery – raising a million pounds for worthy causes in less than a year is a wonderful achievement and deserves fulsome praise.

“I hope others can take inspiration from those working tirelessly for the People’s Postcode Lottery which generates tremendous support for so many charitable organisations.”

The People’s Postcode Lottery has so far raised:

• over £330,000 for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres which is enough to support a Maggie’s centre for an entire year helping over 18,000 people affected by Cancer in Scotland this year.
• over £330,000 for the Scottish Wildlife Trust which helps to supports the maintenance of 120 reserves across the country.
• over £340,000 for CHILDREN 1^ST which is enough to support the CHILDREN 1ST ParentLine service for 12 months helping over 3,500 parents and carers in Scotland each year.
