Janet Ellis

Ambassador for Maggie's Cancer Care Centres

"A diagnosis of cancer and the subsequent treatment and impact that it has on your life, work, family and well-being is a life-changing experience and it is a time where people need information, care and support. That is what Maggie's Centres are all about, helping people on their journey with, through and beyond cancer.

"Maggie's make it as easy as possible for people to visit their centres, all located within walking distance of the oncology centres where people are treated. Maggie's Centres are all individually designed to be warm, welcoming and homely and are for anyone affected by any type of cancer at any time, their family, friends and carers.

"As patron of Maggie's London Centre I am thrilled that the People's Postcode Lottery has chosen Maggie's to be one of their official charities in England. Maggie's are developing centres in Nottingham, Newcastle, Oxford and Cheltenham with more in the pipeline and the long term aim is to have a Maggie's Centre at every major oncology centre in the UK.

"Thank you to everyone who is playing, you are greatly helping Maggie's and the other People's Postcode Lottery charities. Good luck!"
