Internationally the People's Postcode Lottery operation has contributed over £2 billion to charitable projects and organisations throughout the world. This funding has enabled valuable work to be carried out in the areas of regeneration and community, poverty relief, children's wellbeing and nature conservation.

In Scotland the lottery is run to support Scottish charity partners: CHILDREN 1ST, Maggie’s Centres, Missing People (in Scotland), People's Postcode Trust and Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Regulatory
The People’s Postcode Lottery is independently licensed, monitored and supervised.
The Gambling Commission has issued an External Lottery Manager’s Licence under the Gambling Act 2005 to manage a Society Lottery under certificate nr 829-N-102511-003 and 829-R-102513-003, dated 01 January 2009.

Always happy to help!

If you’ve got any questions about the People’s Postcode Lottery, there’s a simple way to get the answers you need. Grace Crowther is one of the operators at our Customer Care Centre that’s been set up to do just that.

As part of a friendly team, she’s always happy to explain how the People’s Postcode Lottery works, and sort out any subscription queries. She puts down her headphones for a moment to talk about her work.

“One of the questions I’m often asked is how people can find out if they’ve won. Well, that’s an easy one! The results of the weekly draws are published on this website and in most local papers. Our number 0808-10•9•8•7•6•5 also gives updates on each weekly draw and the winning street and sectors. This is usually updated on a Friday.”

What about if people are away? According to Grace, there’s no need to worry.
“We contact all Sector Winners by letter, and if you win a Street Prize up to the £30,000 – we will contact you personally. And all the prizes are paid straight into the bank account that the Direct Debit is taken from.”

So how do you win a Sector Prize?
“The first four or five digits of your postcode need to match the winning ticket number – so for example, that’s AB4 3 if the winning postcode is AB4 3PL, or EH32 1 if it’s EH32 1BZ.” What other kind of questions will people ask? “Nobody wants to miss out on the chance to win £30,000, so people will call to tell us about changes to their bank account or address. Keep us informed and you may be a winner.”

Thanks for talking to us, Grace.
